BATHROOM LAYOUTS: EASY ON THE WALLET

Because I have bathrooms on the brain - I thought it would be fun to put together 3 different bathroom layouts - on a budget.  And when I say budget, I mean I didn't include vanity faucets that are $300-$400; despite how amazing they are and how much I want them.  I also based this off of a typical hallway bathroom; approximately 40 square feet.  This much footage will give you room to include a single bowl vanity (30-36 inch vanity), toilet, built in closet, and a shower/tub combo (using a 5 foot tub).

What do you guys think?  I love pieces out of each of these, but my favorite is the Vintage Modern.  Love the dark floors with the wooden vanity.  I went ahead and used the same tub in each of these - because I know not all tubs are equal - but - to me this tub is the perfect modern day tub.  Classic lines, simple, and plain white.  Surprisingly, I didn't mix metals as much as I had planned on doing.  But, I think there is more room to mix when incorporating the toilet paper holder, towel ring, shower hooks/bar, etc.  That is what I am doing in our bathroom.  I want the brass/gold in there, but am worried about making it too prominent.

If you are working on a bathroom, or plan to in the future - I hope these give you some ideas or at least some overall concept ideas.   My best advice is to pick one thing that you know you want.  Maybe it is a certain floor tile, or shower/wall tile.  Or maybe you want to decide to splurge for the shower/tub/vanity futures (i.e. go for the Kohler Purist line;) - and if you do - you have to let me know, so I can live vicariously through you;).  I would pick which of these you love the most and use that as your focal point for the room.  For our bathroom it was the floor tile.  I knew what I wanted to do on the floor.  And when I say I 'knew' - I mean I KNEW...lol.  I have not second guessed it once - and for me that is the one item I wanted to focus on, and then I worked off of that.  That way - if you base the rest of the fixtures, colors, etc. off of that one item that you were in love with - everything else should just fall into place and you should love as well.

Happy Friday!
